Summary
This paper describes a comparison of the results from the experiment realised in the thermal technical chamber of VSB-TU Ostrava and numerical modelling using the finite element method and the ANSYS software. In this paper the effect of a nonuniform temperature distribution along the height of the cross section at the time of the fire is assessed using a constitutive and geometrically non-linear solution. Some experimental testing is used to evaluate the analysis of the behaviour of statically indeterminate steel frame structures subject to fire loading including the solution of a thermal analysis. The results of the experimental testing are studied and compared with the numerical modelling where the combined analysis is used.
