Abstract
The design and development of a computer controlled data acquisition system to monitor the behaviour or the Foyle Bridge, near Londonderry, N. Ireland, is described. Details are given of the hardware used and of the software which has been purpose written. The system is designed to operate unattended and may be controlled remotely via a modem and a dial-up telephone line. Examples of typical results obtained are given.
