Abstract
The stress analysis of the second-stage concrete around a 6-jet Pelton distributor is presented considering simplified assumptions. A plane-frame finite-element model is used to analyse the structural system o f the distributor, the encasing concrete and the confining rock. Forces acting on the distributor and their effect on the second-stage concrete are approximately estimated. Tile displacements and forces in the second-stage concrete are evaluated for the put-pose of designing the required reinforcement.
