Abstract
The paper describes how a Teaching Company Programme has been used to investigate an implement a CADraughting system into a civil engineering consultancy practice. Methodologies for investigating the requirements of the firm, the economic justifications for implementation and the technical merits of commercially available systems are all described in detail. Finally the paper reviews how the installation of the system has changed working practices and management procedures.
