Abstract
A geometrical nonlinear theory with a high order kinematic model is used for parametric study of the combined effect shear deformations and stretching-bending coupling on the post-buckling behavior of laminated beams. Constitutive relations which include the lateral direction of the beam are used. The nonlinear equations, obtained with the aid of a variational principle applied on the potential energy, are solved by a special finite-differences scheme with the locking phenomenon eliminated.
