Abstract
During the last two decade several analytical and experimental studies have been conducted on the behaviour of bracing systems subjected to out-of-plane buckling, a new system of pretwisted bars is suggested and considered in this paper. The stability of a twisted brace under a conservative load is investigated. It is found that the critical load of the twisted brace is more than that of untwisted brace depending on system parameters (i.e. twist/unit length, boundary conditions).
