Abstract
A novel element by element recovery procedure, which uses a local representation for the basic unknown functions and the corresponding derivative quantities and which contains "built in" the information from the field equations, is presented. Two model problems: the so called quasi-harmonic equation and the plane elasticity problem are considered. Two numerical examples with experimental convergence studies of the energy norm are given.
